Description
The Raindrops Detection Sensor Module is a versatile and widely used electronic module designed to detect water droplets, rain, or moisture on its sensing surface. It is commonly used in Arduino and IoT-based projects such as weather stations, smart irrigation systems, and automatic rain detection systems.
The module consists of two main parts: a rain-sensitive board and a control board. When raindrops fall on the sensor plate, they create conductive paths that reduce resistance, allowing the module to detect the presence and intensity of water.
It operates within a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V and provides both analog (AO) and digital (DO) outputs. The analog output gives a variable voltage based on the amount of water detected, while the digital output provides a simple HIGH/LOW signal depending on a preset threshold.
The module includes an onboard potentiometer that allows users to adjust sensitivity according to their needs, along with an indicator LED for easy monitoring. Its compact design, low power consumption, and compatibility with popular platforms like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi make it ideal for beginners and advanced users alike.
Typical applications include rain detection systems, water leakage alarms, environmental monitoring, and automated control systems such as smart wipers or irrigation controllers.
