Description
The TIP42C is a PNP power transistor built for medium- to high-power electronic applications. Encased in a TO-220 package, it is designed for efficient heat dissipation and easy mounting on heatsinks, making it suitable for both prototyping and industrial use.
This transistor supports a maximum collector current of up to 6A and a collector-emitter voltage of up to 100V, allowing it to handle significant power loads in switching and amplification circuits.
The TIP42C belongs to the TIP42 series and is commonly used as the complementary pair to the TIP41C (NPN transistor) in push-pull amplifier configurations. This makes it especially useful in audio amplifier designs where balanced signal amplification is required.
Built using silicon-based technology, the transistor offers reliable performance, good linearity, and stable switching characteristics, making it suitable for both analog and digital circuits.
With a power dissipation of up to 65W (with proper heatsinking), the TIP42C can operate in demanding environments while maintaining efficiency and durability.
